BetterLibrary
What BetterLibrary is, what the window shows, and where to start.
BetterLibrary turns a folder of video clips into a library you can search. You import the originals, tag and rate them, mark the moments inside each clip, and export trims without touching the source files.
A library is one folder on your Mac. Everything the app knows lives inside it. See Libraries.
The window at a glance
The window has three panes. Every window opens on the same library.
| Pane | What it holds |

| Sidebar | The Ask for clips field, the Library, the shelves In Progress, Archive and All Clips, your saved views, your properties with their tags and counts, the AI queue, and your account. |
| Grid | Your clips as cards, or as a table. The filter bar sits above it. |
| Inspector | The selected clip: status, name, description, file facts, properties and highlights. With several clips selected, what they share. |
Double-click a card and the clip opens in its own window, with a player over its highlight timeline. Press Space for a Quick Look window instead.

- Sign in and start the trial when the app first opens. See Account and credits.
- Make a library and say what it is about. See Create a library.
- Import a few clips. See Importing.
- Let the AI name, describe and tag them, then read the result and mark the good ones Ready. See AI tagging and Statuses.
- Ask for a shot in a sentence with ⌘K. See Search and Ask.
